Sunday October 30
One of my suppliers (Bob) from North America (Cleveland) came to Singapore today. It is his first time traveling anywhere internationally. We went out for an early dinner on Orchard, and walked around a little, so he could experience Orchard. He didn’t want anything too “strange” so we got pizza.
After dinner I met Mary in a cute little neighborhood off of Orchard for a few Sunday night beers! Live music on a warm night, and people showing up at 11p.m. for dinner…. This is Singapore! She just came got home from Bali, so there was a lot to talk about J

I met Mary and two of her friends for dinner at a Hawker Center near our houses called “La Pa Sat” It’s a more “upscale” Hawker Center known for the satay. It was completely open, with live music in the middle of the center, with awesome Satay. We ordered shrimp (shell and tail still on), as well as chicken and fried rice. Satay is grilled meet on a skewer – so good!
Mary had met this couple in Vietnam who were traveling for 2 months all around Asia. They were currently moving from London back to their home town in New Zealand. They had decided to stop in Singapore before they headed back to New Zealand for 2 days. It was really interesting talking to them about living in London and New Zealand and all of their travels around Asia for the past 2 months.
After dinner we took the MRT (subway ) home. It was my first time taking it, so I am glad I was able to with Mary. Since then I have been able to take the MRT by myself, and haven’t even gotten lost yet!

I went out for dinner with Bob (My supplier from NA) and one of his coworkers from Singapore to Clark Quay. We went to Jumbo for the chili crab (a Singapore favorite). This was my second time at Jumbo, and my third time having Chili Crab. We were giving bibs, and it’s fun to eat with a group, because of the amount of food you get. It was a “traditional” Asian meal where one person eats, and we share everything at the table. We also ordered “crunch prawns” that were breaded in peanuts and some breading, they were awesome.
After dinner we walked around Clark Quay, and listened to some live music, and stopped at another bar for a beer. It was another beautiful night in Singapore!

I met Bob for dinner again. He wanted to go to Marina Bay Sands (The hotel with the ship on the top of the 3 towers). I hadn’t been there yet, so was excited to finally go there. We met on the 54th floor for dinner and drinks. The view from the 54th floor looking out over Singapore is incredible. It was a really fun dinner, and awesome to be able to see the Marina as well as the city.
The hotel is owned by the Sands group which also owns a group of hotels/casinos in Vegas. When you walk into the hotel, casinos, restaurants, etc. it feels like Vegas. I was in love J
