After our Tree Top hike, Mary and I booked a room at the Marina Bay Sands. You may remember me speaking about it in previous posts, but I will refresh you on MBS. MBS is in Marina Bay, and owned and run by the Sands group, who owns and runs many casinos in Vegas. It is the hotel/casino with 3 towers and the huge ship on the top of the towers. The rooms were discounted on Sunday, and there was holiday on Monday, so we took advantage of a "staycation."
We arrived at Marina Bay, and were greeted with glasses of wine, and red roses. We checked into our room, didn't have a city view room, so we switched rooms, and were upgraded! We were on the 32nd floor, and the view was awesome! We brought our own beverages with us to the hotel, and were going to take the mini fridge drinks out of the fridge, and put our own drinks in. A person from the hotel came to our room to take inventory of the mini fridge, we asked him if it would be a problem for us to put our own beverages in the fridge, and his response was, "Do you just want me to bring another fridge to your room?" Oh Singapore... just a great response! So, we had a second fridge delivered to our room.
Marina Bay's swimming pool and hot tub are on the 57th floor of the hotel. It has an awesome infinity pool that looks like it is dropping off into the city. There are great views of the marina and the city from the pool. We laid in the sun, ordered Sangria and enjoyed a relaxing day at the pool.
Once it got dark, we walked around MBS and found a place for dinner. MBS is just like a Vegas hotel with many high end shops, numerous restaurants, theaters, ice skating rinks, night clubs, etc. Wicked had just been performing at MBS, and there are many other shows that perform there, and stop on tour there.
