It's Friday! My first work week is over. Dell came into Rockwell today to replace the mother board on my laptop, so things are progressing with me being able to actually work when I am here. I am hoping by Monday I can actually start being a Rockwell employee again :)
For lunch I went out with another expat from Milwaukee, and 5 other people from work. We went out for Thai, and again 1 person did all the ordering, and we shared everything. We went to a more "touristy" restaurant inside one of the malls. It was like a food court, with high end restaurants. The food was very good and consisted of: Steamed shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp cake (almost like a crab cake), fried chicken, spinach, rice, steamed soup dumplings, Noodles soup. Everything was eaten with chopsticks, except for the soup, which we could use a spoon. Another big plus for the meal - we got a napkin!
A Friday afternoon snack - Dragon Fruit. Very good, and pretty! I don't know if you can tell, but there are pink veins running through the fruit!
Friday night I met up with a colleague who was visiting from Ohio. We went to Brewercz for a beer which is a micro brewery in Clark Quay. It serves very "Americanized" foods, and plays the NFL games on Monday nights. The bars and Quay were very busy, and hopping with people.
Singapore River, with the Financial District in the background, and the restaurants and bars right on the river.
