Hawker Center - More Food Updates!

October 13, 2011

I am considering changing the name of my blog to "What I am eating in Singapore"  The favorite past times of Singaporeans is eating and shopping.

I took a cold shower today due to my water heater not working in my apartment.  That was a good way to wake up very quickly!

Today was my first day to get to work on my own.  I take a taxi to and from work, so it's not too difficult!  Everyone really does speak English too, so it's easy getting around.

My interesting lunch today was very "local Singapore"... we went to a Hawker Center.  There are Hawker Center's everywhere which is like an outside food court with many different vendors selling all different types of native Asian foods. It is extremely cheap, but the food is good.  I got seafood fried rice, and it tasted very similar to fried rice we would have at home.  I was extremely thankful for being able to use a fork today as well!  To drink, I had sugar cane.  It was really good, and very sweet, and I guess all natural.

I did some exploring tonight around my neighborhood!
